Сегодня мы слышали евангельское чтение об исцелении иерихонского слепца. Однажды Спаситель шел в город Иерихон. По дороге встретился слепец, который, узнав, что мимо идет Спаситель, вскричал: «Иисусе, Сыне Давидов, помилуй меня!» Господь услышал вопль несчастного человека, откликнулся на него и исцелил слепого, даровав ему зрение, и назвал причину, по которой этот человек получил исцеление. Он сказал: «Вера твоя спасла тебя»
Оказывается, мы все погибаем из-за неверия. Если бы у нас была крепкая сильная вера, то тогда для нас не было бы никаких препятствий. Тогда у нас не было бы никаких сложностей в исполнении заповедей Божиих. Тогда бы у нас были другие отношения между собой, и жизнь проходила совсем по-другому. Именно отсутствие веры и желание жить вопреки воле Божией создают нам множество трудностей, которые мы потом сами преодолеть не можем.
Наше неверие и слабоверие нас расслабляют. Оно не дает нам сил жить полноценной духовной жизнью. Мы всего боимся, страшимся. Мы верим во что угодно, но в нас нет живой веры в Бога. Это наше несчастье, и мы должны исправляться, потому что Вера в Бога нас укрепляет, помогает претерпевать искушения, испытания.
Но для того, чтобы иметь веру в Бога, нужно победить в себе грех. Потому что грех отделяет нас от Бога, его стена для нас непреодолима. Попросим Спасителя и Творца нашего, чтобы Господь помог и нам, как иерихонскому слепцу, воззвать Богу и Спасителю: «Господи, Иисусе Христе, Сыне Божий, помилуй нас, грешных!» И с этой твердой молитвой будем просить Бога, чтобы Господь и нам даровал возможность обрести веру и жить, видя не только мир окружающий, но и созерцая духовными очами мир благодати и мир Божественной любви к нам.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, I congratulate you all on the 31st
week after Pentecost. Today we heard the Gospel reading about the
healing of the blind man of Jericho. One day, the Savior was walking to the city of Jericho. On the way, he met a blind man who, upon learning that the Savior was passing by, cried out: “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” The Lord heard the cry of the unfortunate man, responded to it and healed the blind man, giving him sight, and named the reason why this man was healed. He said: “Your faith has saved you.”
It turns out that we all perish because of unbelief. If we had a strong,
powerful faith, then there would be no obstacles for us. Then we would not have any difficulties in fulfilling God’s commandments. Then we would have different relationships with each other, and life would be completely different. It is the lack of faith and the desire to live contrary to the will of God that create many difficulties for us, which we then cannot overcome on our own.
Our unbelief and weak faith weaken us. It does not give us the strength
to live a full spiritual life. We are afraid of everything, we are scared. We believe in anything, but we do not have a living faith in God. This is our misfortune, and we must correct ourselves, because Faith in God strengthens us, helps us to endure temptations, trials.
But in order to have faith in God, we must overcome sin in ourselves.
Because sin separates us from God, its wall is insurmountable for us. Let us ask our Savior and Creator that the Lord help us, like the blind man of Jericho, to cry out to God and the Savior: “Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on us, sinners!” And with this firm prayer, let us ask God that the Lord grant us the opportunity to find faith and live, seeing not only the world around us, but also contemplating with spiritual eyes the world of grace and the world of Divine love for us. Amen.
